Although all diameters of SPL-2820 POSTALLOY easily applied with or without shielding gas, can be found for special applications where small diameters is preferable to use gas. Recommended: Argon / CO2 or 100% CO2; This will require a 10% increase amperage must be shortened “stick-out”.

When welding out of position, should be reduced amperage and voltage. The use of gas will be advantageous, especially when sources and feeders continuous current is used with voltage control.

These alloys are designed to resist abrasion and impact friction. Lower hardness alloys resist such high compression as found in all grinding applications. Higher hardness alloys resist abrasion. When a rebuild (build-up) is required to retrieve previous dimensions, using manganese alloys that harden with use.
